If you are reading this review I hope this information is helpful because I was looking for a review like the one I am about to write. When you buy a product or service you can, at times, get to see a sample of what you will pay for. For example, when I got my $5,000 lasik surgery I asked to watch an actual procedure before I committed and the eye doctor agreed.
However, in the case of the DJ we needed for a teen party we could not see and experience the DJ in action. This made our party planners very nervous. If the DJ was bad the entire party would be lackluster. We had many phone conversations with Mike and he was very professional even though we could not see and experience his performance. Despite many excellent reviews and references we were still apprehensive.
Our party began at 6pm and ended at 10pm. Our goal was to have 50 teens engaged the entire time. From the moment we walked in the door at 6pm Mike had the kids on the dance floor. He continued a well choreographed dance party until we concluded at 10pm. He was a master at interactive activities, one after another, to keep the teens excited and motivated. He delivered as promised........and much more in my opinion.
The photo booth was packed all night. It was printing photos as fast as a law office copier! Not one technical problem. No downtime due to paper jams. Another perfectly executed part of the party.
We had an unexpected guest visit by Darth Vader. This was not planned, but Mike kicked it up a notch, with Star Wars music on the fly. The Force was with us that night. (see black & white photo I added)
I normally would not write a review for a DJ for a teen party. But since we could not see and experience a sample of his work all we had to count on was Mike's word and reviews. I'm writing this review to tell you both are worth the money and we were so pleased we felt this review was the best way to say *THANK YOU*

If I could give them 20 stars I would. At the last minute my husband decided he wanted a DJ for our tiny 40 person wedding reception. I was scrambling, but Mike responded right away and confirmed their availability.
We are a blended Arab-Latino family. Although DJ Chuck Macki didn't have a lot of Arabic music, he absolutely crushed it that night..he built off a playlist we sent him, and took requests on the fly from guests who would text him links to the songs. He is such a skilled DJ, he transitioned then Arabic songs with the Latin ones so smoothly. He was also dressed so nicely, and was really respectful of our conservative family, but had no problem playing the real shiz when they had all gone home. :-)
DJ Chuck literally made our wedding the blast it was. I totally recommend Grand Slam and hope you will give them a try.
After 2 years of failed attempts to have our high school 50th reunion during the pandemic, we finally succeeded last night! I hired Grandslam DJ's and Photo Booths and Mike killed it! A plus, he had experience with the venue and General Manager where we had chosen to hold the event. Early on, he responded promptly to all my questions and offered advise based on his extensive experience. He arrived on time for the setup; had prepared a playlist based on input from me; suggested a quiet period of mellow music for the arrivals and in to dinner; and seemed to sense when people wanted to rock and roll and DANCE! And we danced! The dance floor was electrified with disco and accent lights that made it all the more festive! Mike was a pleasure to work with and his assistant, Dave, running the photo booth - complete with props and prints with our school colors and event name overlaid. Mike interacted with the crowd via his mic and took requests all night long. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I WOULD! An absolute pleasure!!!
Five stars all the way for DJ Chuck Macki and Grand Slam DJ's at my daughter's bat mitzvah party!!!! Chuck was our MC and DJ, the kids were extremely entertained and having a great time. Chuck worked fabulously with my caterer and photographer. He connected with all the guests, ages 7-75 years old. I could not be happier with the way it worked out; it was everything I hoped it would be and much more! I wholeheartedly recommend DJ Chuck Macki and DJ Mike Keating from Grand Slam DJ's as the company to hire for your next event. Chuck is the best DJ I've ever heard or seen in my life!!!! Thank you Chuck for making our event so special!

DJ Mike has made quite a name for himself here in Marin County. His karaoke events are one of the few fun nightlife activities in town (for folks 40 or 50+).
He hosts a bi-monthly karaoke night at the Lighthouse Bar & Grill in Mill Valley. These events attract a motley crew of wannabe singers of all musical talents. But whether they can belt high notes or not is irrelevant. The point of the evening is to have a good time. Mike does a solid job of keeping the festivities going at a quick pace. Sometimes, he'll even duet with one of the singers or serve as back-up vocals. Rest assured, everyone always has a fantastic time.

We just had the best experience with Grand Slam DJ! Chuck was our DJ for our wedding and he killed it! The dance floor was full all night! Mike and Chuck worked closely with me to make sure all our favorite songs were played and they were even able to seamlessly incorporate our Greek dance music exactly as requested. Having a DJ that can keep your wedding on track and provide good music that keeps people going all night is so important and it's exactly what we got from Grand Slam! Would 100% recommend for your next event!

Mike was wonderful!! We gave him a list with some pretty obscure music on it and he made it happen! He was punctual, professional, pleasant, and did a great job reading the room and keeping our guests on their feet all night!
Grand Slam Mobile Disc Jockeys was incredible to say the least. Mike and his assistant knocked it out of the park!!! Our son got married this last Sunday. Mike was there early. He stayed late! He confirmed what we wanted to do when he arrived. Our venue was outdoors at Garden Valley Ranch. The service was at one end of the venue. The reception and dinner were at another. Mike did a great job with the service. Once the service was over, he packed up and moved to the reception area. He had a wireless microphone for the toasts during dinner with speakers and lots of wire to make them operate! The dancing started with the first dance and did not stop until the end of the night. Mike played a great variety of music. The bride and groom were among the last to leave. That is how much fun everybody had. I would have Grand Slam Mobile Disc Jockeys do any other event I would have. No need to look for anybody else. Thank you so much for helping make our son's wedding day so incredible!
Mike Keating & crew set up very discreetly, kept the music at the right level for the various portions of our event, and played good dance music when we needed it. Very easy to work with.

My fiance and I met Mike at a bridal fair and instantly knew he was the DJ we wanted at our wedding. I just wanted to pass along some information about Grand Slam DJ's. They are really an amazing company that takes hosting events to a whole other level. The owner Mike is very professional and helped us plan out our whole wedding with ease. DJ Chuck Macki was the actually DJ for our wedding day and OMG wow he really did such an outstanding job the whole wedding party was practically speechless!! We had mainly a hispanic crowd and he was able to provide all types of necessary Spanish music for us without even giving him a song list. Grand Slam is the only DJ company we will ever book events with moving forward! Of all the vendors we had to hire, I think the DJ was by far our best selection. Again I want to thank Chuck and Grand Slam for making the event incredible I could not have been happier and I would recommend Chuck one hundred times out of a hundred!!!

Mike did an amazing job! He showed up early and even stared early for us! He kept the dance floor busy and made sure to play songs we requested. I would absolutely recommend booking Grand Slam DJs.

I wish I could say enough about how great of an experience it was having Mike with Grand Slam DJ's at our wedding! My wife and I were thrilled at how professional he was, his ability to "control the crowd," and time management skills. Mike Keating served as the DJ for our wedding on August 1, 2010 and we highly recommend him. He was very professional and responsive from our first meeting, through various emails, and during the reception itself. We allowed him to use his judgment on the dance music and he was able to keep the guests on the dance floor. He was a great MC and was able to keep us on track for all of the activities of a wedding reception.
